Please see below for a general overview of our services. All tutoring is bespoke and customizable. We are happy to adjust to your student’s particular needs.

  • Assessment

    My work with any student begins with an assessment of their strengths and weaknesses. Using practice exams, we pick the test that will help your student grow faster and farther!

    Content

    I teach my students all the relevant content for every section on the test. On average, schools teach students only 50% of the relevant material. I fill in the blanks!

    ​Strategy

    Once we've covered a fair amount of the test's content, I introduce my students to the best possible strategies for success in each area of the test.

    Practice

    We then move to practice sections, quickly followed by full practice tests. Along the way, we review mistakes, refresh content knowledge, and adjust strategies.

    ​Test Day

    I guide students up to and through test day. For the SAT and ACT, this may mean multiple test attempts. For the high school entrance exams, the situation varies. In either case, I am happy to help until students have hit their score goals and beyond!

  • The School List

    I begin by giving my students the tools they need to build a school list that perfect suits their college dreams.

    The Personal Statement

    I guide my students through every aspect of writing a standout personal statement, from brainstorm to submission.

    Supplemental Essays

    Many schools request additional essays beyond the personal statement. I help my students take advantage of even those short opportunities to make their applications shine.

    Applications

    There are good ways and bad ways to fill out these seemingly simple applications. I help my students to present themselves in the best possible light.

    ​Interviews

    I prepare my students for what they can expect in any admissions interview, and how to set themselves up for success. I am also happy to provide my students with a mock interview experience.

  • I have worked with students on every subject from Algebra to Biology, English to US History, and beyond! I am happy to assist with homework, projects, essays, quizzes, and tests.

  • Phil has advised many schools on the test prep process and helped them to better guide their students. He is also a skilled public speaker, and frequently lectures in schools on the test prep process.
